Creative education for the neurodiverse
Schedule: Mon - Fri 10am - 2:30pm
We offer Level 1, 2 and 3 Course and also stop gaps, so something to suit everyone.
Our students are on alternative provision packages. They are incredibly creative young individuals with neurodiverse needs and unique learning challenges, many of whom experience high levels of anxiety.
We have been successful in helping young people that have been school or college unconfident gain a sense of purpose.
Aged 12- 25* (with * EHCP / from Year 7). All of our students are respectful, and accepting and want to feel a sense of belonging. All students have the desire to achieve, learn new skills and make friends along the way.
We teach students how to create video games and navigate around industry standard software.
We cover – 2D design / 3D Design /Pixel Art / Level Design / Website & Portfolio creation.
Positive student results have meant that we continue to grow, through both our physical venue sessions and tutor lead remote session.
By understanding the mechanics of how a video game is created and by teaching the technical skills needed to create a video game we help our students feel confident and valued.
The majority of our students are neurodiverse and the thought of transitions can send them into ‘shutdown’ due to anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. We therefore have to approach transitions carefully. As such we work hard with the parents, case workers and referral partners on an individual basis to support the student’s progression ensuring it is the best fit for them and handled sensitively.
However, for the whole setting, we offer career days on 3 dates per year and house partner companies to talk about careers and job opportunities. We have links to Universities and have overview days with them. We also identify routes for employment and talk these through with students across the academic year.
I am really enjoying the course and the environment as there are less people and I can cope better. My tutor is friendly, patient and kind. My previous experiences at school were traumatic and unable to cope in the school environment.
My EOB experience has been overwhelmingly positive and accommodating. My complex mental and physical needs have been met and every step has been taken to make sure I am comfortable.
My time with EOB has been GREAT! Good tutors who have helped me set my path in the right direction. EOB has helped me to be more positive and it’s been a fun experience.
Emeny Of Boredom have also supported me to develop socially and have provided many options to boost my confidence and motivation.
