Course overview
- Our students are incredibly creative young individuals with neurodiverse needs and unique learning challenges, many of whom experience high levels of anxiety.
- Aged 12- 25* (with * EHCP / from Year 7).
- Are respectful, and accepting and want to feel a sense of belonging.
- All have the desire to achieve, learn new skills and make friends along the way.
- Enemy Of Boredom courses can be joined throughout the year (subject to availability)
- Level 1 can be accessed 1 or 2 days a week
- Level 2 needs to be attended 2 days a week
- Level 3 needs to be attended 3 days a week
We have been successful in helping young people that have been school or college unconfident gain a sense of purpose and in-turn, re-engage and gain an Enemy Of Boredom qualification.
By understanding the mechanics of how a video game is created and by teaching the technical skills needed to create a video game we help our students feel confident and valued.
We teach students how to create video games and navigate around industry standard software.
We cover - 2D design / 3D Design /Pixel Art / Level Design / Website & Portfolio creation.
Positive student results have meant that we continue to grow, through both our physical venue sessions and tutor lead remote session.

- EOB can offer Schools and Local Authorities flexibility within our course offerings and approach.
- All tutors are trained in mental health awareness and special needs/disabilities in the classroom.
- We use the Autism toolkit to support our practice and approach for students.
- Upon referral, we request a student's EHCP to create a personalised student profile with identified outcomes and needs.
- Referrals are considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Inductions are tailored to each student's needs and profile and conducted 1:1 to build confidence and strong tutor relationships.
- Transition booklets with photos are provided to support students with anxiety.
- Students will have the same tutor, workstation and routine to help overcome anxieties.
- A neutral, low-arousal sensory environment is created to support sensory needs, with various seating options.
- A regulation room is available for self-regulation of emotions, accessible at any time.
- Our Courses are broken into manageable, bite-sized chunks to prevent overload.
- Students are encouraged to take brain breaks as needed.
- Visual "to-do lists" are provided for students needing more structure.
- Students unable to communicate verbally can use Discord's chat facility.
- Support is provided for students' transition into the community, including lunchtime and independent travel assistance.
- Our open-door policy encourages strong relationships, enabling students to seek guidance on any support they need and community resources.
- We assist students with next steps, such as college, apprenticeships, and university applications, including interview preparation.
- Communication with future provisions ensures continuity of support and a smooth transition for students.
- All staff take Safeguarding seriously and all understand it is everyones responsibility. All staff our Level 2 safeguarding trained and management Level 3.
- Half- termly reports are sent to all referral partners and families
- We celebrate our student's work with a physical or virtual graduation ceremony.
- An EOB Newsletter is sent each term with important information, details on the terms work and any other news.
- Our Online courses are ‘live’ sessions that are recorded.

- Students can progress through the levels at EOB to strengthen their future prospects
- Level 1 students can progress to Level 2
- Level 2 students can apply to college
- Level 3 students can apply for University if a Diploma is studied or they take on a foundation year at Uni.
